It needs clearer pronunciation instructions that I can see. Some sources tell me that "Ich" is pronounced - ikh - others say - ihh. So I don't really know how to pronounce it correctly. Other than that, this place is great.

yes. "ch" is a bit tricky. Better to listen to these sounds and learn. There are no exact English equivalents.

I'm taking a German diction course at college right now (and slowly trying to learn the language), and from what I've been taught, ch is more of a back-throated, rougher sound when it follows a, o, u and au and is more a 'hh', front-of-the-mouth sound when it follows a consonant or any other vowels. So the 'ch' sounds in ich and Buch, for example, are different. I don't know if that helped, but I agree - the real key is listening to them.

Many people try to learn a language with great interest and then find it difficult and give-up the course. A little more effort is all that is required so why do you drop out?German videos on the internet will help you with the pronunciation.Try to watch German movies and even interact with German people if possible. These little things will go a long way in helping you to grasp the language.
