Review: Lesson 4Now we will go back to the previous lesson and repeat the most important aspects of it: Possessive pronouns and the new cases: genitive and accusative. Remember that you can only use the "easy" genitive (the one with s) in German when you use names of people or animals. We will learn in another course of "German for Everyone", how to use the genitive with all other things in German.Exercise Das ist ... (genitive and possessive pronouns) Try to translate the following sentences into German. Use the genitive in German, whenever the English sentence contains one, too. Otherwise, use a correct possessive pronoun. Example: This is my car. Das ist mein Auto.
Exercise Your son is taking a German class in school. One day, he comes home frustrated with bad test results. Can you help him correct the following sentences? The most common mistakes are the cases of the nouns (nominative, genitive, accusative) and the possessive pronouns. Also, try to give your son a reason for each correction you made so he can understand what's wrong and do better next time. Example: Mein Mutter geht in der Garten. Meine Mutter geht in den Garten. 1) Meine Opa kocht seine Essen. .
