Two exercises about building the pluralFrom now on (in this and all coming lessons), when you reach the vocabulary section of any lesson, the plural form will be given to you for each noun. We also added the plural forms of all the nouns from the previous lessons to this lesson's vocabularies.Exercise Put the following German words into their plural form. Many times, you will just have to guess the correct forms. Nevertheless, always try first to find some rule or guideline from the previous page and try to apply them to the given word. If there is a guideline or rule, try to explain them. If there is no guideline to follow, make a guess and think about the fact that most endings in the plural have an 'e' in them. Don't get yourself frustrated about this exercise. You will guess many times wrong. This exercise, which is very ling, is meant more as a means to confront you with all existing possibilities of forming the plural in German. Example: die Schule (the school) die Schulen (fem. ends in 'e' -> 'en')
Once again: All vocabularies from above (singular and plural) will be listed in the vocabulary section of this lesson. We don't recommend you to learn the new plural forms now. Instead, study them carefully together with the new vocabularies once you are done with this lesson. Exercise Rewrite the following sentences, changing all nouns to the plural.
